Decide for yourself if the words below contain lax or tense vowels. Then, listen to the native speaker examples by listening to recording 3a and try to imitate those examples as closely as possible.
Practise a few times first, then record yourself and listen back to your recording for improvements.

Study the word pairs below for yourself first. Try to spot the differences in pronunciation between both words in each pair in terms of the length of the vowels. Once you think you have spotted the differences, listen to the native speaker examples by listening to recording 3b to find out if you identified the differences correctly.
Then, try to imitate the examples as closely as possible. Practise a few times first, then record yourself and listen back to your recording for improvements.
