Exercise 5.6
Adapted from: Hermans, (2018)
Go back to the list of words from exercise 5.2 once more. Watch the video to take a close look at how your teacher moves the tip of his tongue between his teeth when pressing air through the narrowing between his teeth. Listen to every word in recording 5c afterwards and copy what you hear as closely as possible.

Record yourself while doing this. Then, listen back to your recording for improvements, practise a few times and record yourself again.

Send your final recording to your teacher, who will decide how well you have pronounced the ‘voiceless’ /th/ in every word. Also play your recording to a classmate and listen to his/her recording, so that you can give each other feedback as well.
